How much could I get for my car with a bad transmission?

I have a 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier. The clear coat is chipping, and there's some small rust spots and damage to the paint. So I'd say most of the car is in "Fair" condition, and the Blue Book value would be $1200. BUT it also has a bad transmission, which puts it in "Poor" condition. How much do you think I could get for it in a private sale (to a mechanic or whatever)? How much for a trade-in? (Nothing?)
