I need help with photography, is their an 'artist' who is related to my idea?

I'm currently doing a A2 photography project. I was looking at a photo-realist called Charles Bell and some of his work (antic toys, marbles, pinball etc..) anyway I couldn't get my hands on any antic toys so I gave up that idea. And came up with with, maybe playing cards and have them standing up right, making them look like they're have a conversation.. maybe photoshop different bodies on them. Similarly with children's toys have them photographed in a way that looks like they are characters acting. Anyway I'd like some help.. firstly I need a artist, photographer, sculptor, writer anything to do with art so I can relate it to my new idea, as Charles Bell isn't close enough related in my opinion. Secondly if anyone has any tips on how to go about my shot would be much appreciated.
